Late Night Funk 26/05/2021

The first song played by any radio show is so important! We kick off this week’s LNF with Harvey Mason – Till You Take My Love (1977). This song embodies the feel of the show and I could personally just listen to it over and over again. Other big funk and soul classics from Curtis Mayfield, The Temptations and the epic soul music historical anthology of the Pasadenas.

There’s a new U.K. Soul Chart number 1 this week, with legendary DJ producer Dave Lee’s (formally Joey Negro) mix of The Pockets – Work It Out hitting the top spot.

Our Dad Dancing Anthem is one of the most famous soul songs of all time, by the Godfather of Soul. The clues are a bit tricky though, so have a listen and see if you can get the correct answer.

As ever don’t forget to catch the show live every Wednesday at 10pm www.reachonair.com / Also follow me on social media @theradiochris
